What techniques are used in hypnotherapy?

· Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) NLP in hypnosis is a linguistic-based approach that used language patterns to reframe what experiences mean to the patient and can even bring a feeling as though the change they want has already happened.


· Guided Imagery Guided Imagery is a technique that brings the patient into a more relaxed state. Your hypnotherapist will walk you through a scenario where you imagine yourself pacing through an imaginary scene that gently brings you to a place of greater suggestibility.


· Direct Suggestion This is an approach that uses clear commands to bring about positive change in the patient. These short commands are given from an authoritarian position that concisely addresses the desired outcome.


· Regression Therapy This approach brings a patient back to an earlier life event to understand the cause of present-day issues. By re-experiencing these events, a patient can resolve past traumas and live a life free from the effects that happened years before.


· Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) CBT is a terrific approach to conscious therapy, but can also be quite effective when combined with hypnosis. CBT helps patients identify and change negative thought patterns. When those patterns are deeply ingrained by life events, the combination with hypnotherapy can better introduce this approach to the subconscious mind to more easily resolve.
